So far, 2017 has already been particularly difficult to accept. Then I joined the 750k protesters as they flooded the streets of downtown Los Angeles in solidarity of Women's rights.
Although I didn't wear this look while marching (maybe I should've), it was inspired by what I believe is the best course of action: Love. A lot of people were holding signs and posting to social media #lovetrumpshate and #bridgesnotwalls, but this is what I'm saying. I am saying love, not as a response, but as a point of origin.
The recently thrifted sunglasses and red lipstick help remind me to be as bold as I want to be; to love myself.
The military inspired shoulder patches on this mostly post-consumer and post-industrial waste G-Star dress remind me to stand in my power.
Last but not least, my rose adorned heels remind me to walk in love, to be love, and to give it to everyone I see.
